When using Digg Digg with es_ES, the specified sizes are not correct. Text is truncated depending on which option you choose. The last pixel line of the button is truncated too.
I hacked the plugin with my own values but that was a few weeks ago and I forget the exact changes. Please take a look at the plugin in Spanish and you'll see.

In your case, try use fb xfbml version, it support auto expand the button width.
Ok, i can add:
and than use the XFBML Button, and the design will adjust. But if the normal buttons works from the width and/or i can force that is use english ("Like" insteed of "Gefaellt mir" in german) it will be great. I notice that the FACEBOOK_LOCALE setting will be still ignored too.
