Digg Digg – Normal Button Configuration

A classic way to display social buttons, it allow user to display selected buttons “before”, “after”, “left float” or “right float” of the post.

1. Status

User have to check the “Enable Normal Display” option, click on the “save Changes” button to enable this functionality.

Status

If checked, “Enabled” in color blue is displayed; otherwise, “Disabled” in red color is displayed.

If status = “Disabled
In “Disabled” mode, all settings in this page will be ignored, and no button will be displayed in the post.

2. Display Configuration

This control how and where to display your selected buttons.

2.1 Buttons are display in horizontal or vertical order?
Normally, if you select buttons to display “before” or after” post, select “horizontal mode”; If you select buttons to display “left float” or “right float” post, select “vertical mode”. This combination should apply to 90% of the website, unless you have a really special web layout :)

2.2 Buttons are display in…
Multiple selections are allowed. It means selected buttons are allow to display in your WordpPress “Home”, “Post”, “Page”, “Category”, “Tag” or “Archive”. For example, if you checked “Home” and “Post”, your buttons will be display in “Home” and “Post” page only.

2.3 Display in “Post” under categories…
This option is available if section 2.2 “Post” is checked. Control selected buttons to display or exclude in certain post categories.

  1. Include example
    If user select “Include”, and put “hosting”, “shared” and “vps”, then selected buttons will displayed posts which under categories “hosting”, “shared” and “vps” only.
  2. Exclude example
    If user select “Exclude”, and put “misc” and “others”, then selected buttons will displayed posts which IS NOT under categories “misc” and “others”.

2.4 Enable DiggDigg to modify your post excerp.
Normally, post will display in as excerp “short post description” in “Home” or “Category” page. Digg Digg is able to display in excerp mode also, just checked this option.

Note
Sometime, it may be conflict with your excerp plugin or theme build-in excerp functionality, if yes, just unchecked this option. In this case, Digg Digg is unable to display in excerp mode, sorry.

3. Buttons Selection

Select which buttons you want to display.

Website
Official Buttons provider website. Click on the link to see how the button look like.

Integration Type
Where you want to display the buttons? or How to integrate selected buttons in your WordPress posts? “none”, “before content”, “after content”, “left float” and “right float”. If button is selected to “none”, means do not display this button.

Button Design
Often times, buttons may display in normal size or compact size.

Weight
Control which buttons has more priority to display. In simple, if few buttons are selected, higher weight button is display first, orderly.

Lazy Loading
Load all your content first, then only load the selected buttons, best for optimize website performance. However, not all buttons are allow to do this.

For example,
You did below configuration, see figure above.

Goolge +1

  1. Integration type = “Before Content”
  2. Button Design = “Normal”
  3. Weight = “100″
  4. Lazy Loading = “checked”

Digg

  1. Integration type = “Before Content”
  2. Button Design = “Normal”
  3. Weight = “99″
  4. Lazy Loading = “checked”

Other buttons, integration type all set to “none” (do not display it).

Result
Only Goolge +1 and Digg buttons are display “Before” the post, and Google +1 (weight=100) displayed first follow by Digg (weight=99) button, both has lazy loading features. See figure below :

4. Reset Normal Display Settings

Reset all values in this “Normal Display” page to the default value.

    Brilliant plugin – Appreciate your effort. Thank you.
    I’m honestly surprised this plugin has a rating of 3.5 – I’ve played around with it for a while before giving it a 5star :-)
    I was primarily looking to place the social media icons within the posts horizontally for a clean look and this one is just perfect.
